Mark HopperMark grew up in Surrey and has lived there for most of his life. He studied Theology at St Andrews University, and spent many cold evenings there playing the piano; to his suprise this led to him becoming the pianist at the Old Course Hotel while in his final year and this led him to explore the creative arts after graduating in 1999. After spending some time in Yorkshire, where he took part in several small professional theatre productions, Mark started working in retail, and also began to further explore music composition as well as writing. Realising that he enjoyed the service aspect of retail work and the intellectual challenge of writing (but not its solitude), Mark decided to study law, which he viewed as offering a combination of both of these areas. Mark completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at the College of Law, Guildford, with commendation in 2007 and the Legal Practice Course with distinction in 2008. He was also a finalist at the Law Society's Junior Lawyer PB awards in 2008 (student category) for his work in the College's Pro Bono department. Mark joined Stone Rowe Brewer in November 2009 and is currently working in the private client department where he deals with matters such as Wills, Probate and Powers of Attorney; it is an area he hopes to practice in on qualification. Apart from writing and playing the piano, which he finds very relaxing, Mark spends his spare-time playing cricket, golf and football according to the seasons, and loves to watch a good film, play or musical, as well as read a good book. |
